Sometimes, the love you run from... is the only place you truly belong.
The rain poured mercilessly, drenching the world in cold and heartbreak.
A lone girl ran down the sidewalk—mascara smudged, soaked to the bone, heart pounding like a war drum.
"Manvi!"
His voice cut through the storm—sharp, desperate, raw.
She didn't stop.
"Manvi, please wait!"
Her footsteps splashed through puddles, but her heart was louder. Loud with rage. Loud with six years of trying to forget him.
And now—he was here. Again.
"I said, don't follow me!" she screamed, spinning around. Her soaked hair clung to her cheeks, fury and tears mixing on her flushed face. "Why now, Veer?! Why after everything?"
Veer stood there, equally drenched, equally breathless—but his eyes were wild with something else.
Regret. Longing. Love.
"I couldn't let you go again," he said hoarsely.
"You already did!" she snapped. "Without a word! You left me like I never mattered—do you think showing up in the rain will fix that?"
She shoved him—hard. He stumbled back but didn't fall.
"Then hate me," he rasped, stepping closer. "But don't walk away again. Not tonight. Not without knowing the truth."
Her lips trembled, eyes glistening with unshed tears. "You think the truth will change anything? You broke me, Veer."
"I know," he said, voice breaking. "And I've broken myself every day since."
They stood there, the storm howling around them—two broken hearts still tied by invisible strings.
And then—
Manvi's eyes shifted.
Past him.
Something was wrong.
Her breath caught as she spotted headlights—blinding, too close, moving far too fast. The car swerved toward the sidewalk—toward him.
"Veer!" she gasped.
He turned, confused—but it was too late.
Without thinking, Manvi lunged forward, shoving him with all her strength toward the wall of a nearby building.
There was no time to turn back.
The screech of tires. The blare of a horn.
The sickening thud.
Veer's eyes widened in horror as he saw her body hit the ground.
"MANVI!" he screamed, dropping to his knees in the wet pavement.
Her skin was pale, rain mixing with the blood at her temple. She blinked slowly, struggling to keep her eyes open.
Manvi weakly raised her hands and tried to touch Veer's cheeks for the last time.
"No, no, no—stay with me!" Veer's hands trembled as he cradled her face. "Why would you do that?! Why push me?!" His voice cracked, breaking apart.
Her lips moved weakly, barely audible over the storm.
"Because... Veer... I... I... lo...v...e..."
Her breath hitched. Her body went limp in his arms.
"MANVI!" His scream ripped through the night as he shook her gently, desperate, helpless. "Wake up! Please—don't do this to me!"
The streetlight flickered above them. The rain didn't stop.
And for the first time in years—Veer felt real fear.
Not of losing her love.
But of losing her forever.

And that's how the night that was supposed to be their second chance... became a nightmare.
Will Manvi survive to hear Veer's truth?
Or was "I love you" the last thing she'll ever say to him?
